My jaws just dropped when I saw this watch on the news. This Tourbillon Glissiere made perfectly and artistically by Harry Winston has a very unique self-winding system. It uses two platinum blocks that moves laterally (similar to the TAG Heuer V4) to drive the winding system. Truly a masterpiece.

This is the new collection of Vacheron Constantin called Metiers d’Art ‘Les Masques’. The watchmakers from VC must be on something when they created these;

Vacheron Constantin selected twelve masks from a private museum collection to be recreated on a small scale, and then incorporated in the center of the dial of every watch. The Company is going to develop 25 boxed sets, each with four masks produced per year. The project will take over three years, and a total of 300 Vacheron Constantin watches will be available for most avid connoisseurs and collectors. For the first Metiers d’Art ‘Les Masques’ timepieces, the brand opted for a Chinese death mask, a Congolese face mask, an Indonesian theatre mask and an Alaskan frontal mask.

If you’ll read the entire article, one of the most beautiful museum in the world, the Musee Barbier-Mueller, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and this is a collaboration of fine swiss watches and art which reflects the culture of Geneva.

At last, here comes an iPod accessory that’s really useful aside from Nike+ Sport. Timex just released Ironman iControl watch that allows you to control your iPod on your wrist wirelessly. You can control Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down and Track Forward/Backwards. It looks to me on their website that it only supports Nano at this time. For $125, not a bad Timex Indiglo® and a gym accessory. Ships on 08/10.
